Prospectus, Reportage Photography
School marketing photography can be greatly varied, from shooting images of students and staff at work and play to portraits and location photography. Educational photographer Stephen Shepherd was recently asked to create a body of images for Chiltern Edge School. The photographs were to be used for internal posters, website and school marketing photography collateral. One of the images that was required was a great shot of pupils involved in a science lesson. Luckily for us the tutor was very accommodating in setting up an experiment where pupils could set fire to a tub of gas filled bubbles. This created great set of photos with pupils faces really animated as they enjoyed the “explosion” as the gas was ignited.

Prospectus, Reportage Photography

As a specialist in educational reportage style photography it’s always great to be able to have a bit of freedom when creating imagery for University prospectusand marketing collateral. Being able to move around a campus at will with and without models we can create wonderful natural images that really help the client to stand out from the crowd. This is a set of images created around one such campus using students as models with a roving brief to shoot student life, you can view the gallery using this link.

Reportage Photography

I have just finished a 25 day shot for The construction Industry Training Board, The CITB. Covering the whole of the country we undertook shoots as diverse as portraits and still life to location photography, working with heavy plant and machinery. I have to say that getting shots on this commission has been great fun, I have climbed a 50m tall crane and balanced on the arm to shoot the operator, I shot tunelling trains and I have worked on the roads with a variety of gangs.

Location, Reportage Photography

I was recently asked to shoot some editorial photography the convocation ceremonies for the Royal Agricultural University in Cirencester, Gloucestershire. The two day commission required location photography as well as event and portrait photography. On the first day HRH Prince Charles was present and greeted the students, although at no point could we to stop the ceremony to get “the best shot” with 20 years of professional photography experience I created some great images for the new prospectus.
